You may leave any extra gear, clothes or valuables at our office and headquarters in the Peaks Resort. We will supply you with an avalanche airbag pack. There is room in this pack for 1-2 small items only.

Our headquarters is just outside the south (spa) entrance to the Peaks Resort in Mountain Village. Our Physical Address: 136 Country Club Drive, Mountain Village, CO 81435

(Mountain Village is connected to the town of Telluride via a free 15-minute gondola ride. The two towns are very pedestrian friendly, with easy access to one another. If you intend to drive to Mountain Village, please allow yourself plenty of time for parking and riding the intercept gondola.)

Meet & End Times

Normally we meet at 8:30am, but this can vary. The office will verify this when you confirm with us the day prior to your trip. Meet time can vary for a number of reasons so please make note of the meet time for your day on the status line the morning of your trip. We expect you to be prompt, but request that you refrain from arriving early. A typical day ends between 2:00pm and 4:00pm back at the Peaks Resort.

Skier Ability & Weight Information

It is imperative that you provide accurate information when filling out Helitrax forms.

Skier Ability

Skiers should be Advanced with the confidence to tackle a variety of terrain and conditions in new or variable snow. Snowboarders should be Advanced with the ability to traverse in powder snow, by following a broken ski trail. Snowboarders need to have the ability to carry enough speed in a straight line to cross flatter terrain.

Although we offer skiing on a wide range of slope angles, all participants should be able to confidently execute solid linked turns on black ungroomed runs and in powder. You should be able to comfortably ski/ride in most conditions including powder, hard pack, wind crust, and on a spectrum of slopes with varying steepness.

You should have a sense of adventure and be in good physical condition. The better shape you are in, the better time you will have with us.

Skiers over 70 are welcome, but you need to have exceptional fitness and possess the skiing skill set described above. Skiing at 13,000 feet is quite a bit more challenging than at lower elevations.

Honesty about your ability and fitness will provide you the best experience. If your ability does not meet the criteria above, you may be flown out of the field with no refund applied. If you provide inaccurate information about your skier/rider ability level, Helitrax reserves the right to fly you out of the field with no prorated refund. If you have any questions about your ability, feel free to give us a call.

Guest Weight Info

We fly the most capable high-altitude helicopters available, but there are still factors that contribute to acceptable weight load. For this reason, providing your most accurate and truthful body weight is imperative.

If you provide inaccurate body weight information, your group may be over our helicopter’s weight limit for the day. In this case, your group may be split up, one member of the group may be canceled from the trip, or an additional seat may need to be purchased in order for us to stay within our weight limits.

No refunds will be issued if you provide inaccurate upfront weight information.
